One of the reasons for Kannywood‘s growth is the fact its doors are always open to any talented, dedicated and passionate thespian and the attributes can be seen in the regular progression of young actresses and actors that only after a short period of time grow into other areas of the film industry like production, directing, script writing and so on.
Khadijat Mustapha is one of such who has in a relative short time has grown her craft. In just about two years after she entered Kannywood movie industry, the beautiful 27-year old actress has grown into being a movie producer with films like Zara and Butulci to her credit.
Khadijat believes Kannywood can grow faster if there can be more unity in the industry. According to her, this will stimulate more improvement in the industry so it can compete with other film industries. She told Premium Times, “Although I met good actors and a family in the Kannywood, there is still the need for us to keep the fire burning by making sure we avoid anything that will bring disunity among us. The industry is rapidly growing and we need to remain focused and united.“
That pretty much sums up what the passionate, young and highly determined actress, scriptwriter and producer demands from her colleagues in Kannywood and well, by extension, Nollywood.
