In 1949, Marilyn Monroe, a name now etched in Hollywood history, was a struggling 22-year old actress who was broke and needed money for a car payment.
She was approached by photographer Tom Keller to pose nude for him, and she agreed to do it for $50. These photos went on to become the “Golden Dreams” calendar. The photos also appeared in the first issue of Playboy in 1953.
The newly released photos show how pieces of clothing were added to the original images. Other aspects of the images were also adjusted, back then, including lipstick and hair colour.
