Stunning Swedish actress and dancer, Alicia Vikander has been selected to play the role of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot. Earlier played by Angelina Jolie, the story is of a member of a rich British aristocratic family, who enjoys collecting ancient artifacts.
The original Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was released in 2001 and although it was not an exceptional blockbuster, it grossed about $275 million dollars worldwide.
Alicia Vikander recently won an Oscar for best-supporting actress for her role in the 2015 movie The Danish Girl. She has starred in several other movies like Ex Machina (2015) in which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), Testament of Youth (2014), A Royal Affair (2012), Anna Karenina (2012), Burnt (2015), and Jason Bourne (2016).
