Yesterday, the much anticipated Angry Birds movie was released and so many predictions have been made about it. The movie is an action/adventure film based on a popular game that goes by the same name.
Critics have reviewed the movie and and have given it an average rating but despite that, the movie is expected to do quite well and gross about $40 million domestically in the first few days of its release although Sony is estimating a debut of about $38 million. Making this much in its first few days could place the movie in the No.1 spot at the box office, ahead of Captain America: Civil War that has held the spot for a while.
In the 3D animated comedy, Angry Birds, we’ll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
The Columbia Pictures/Rovio Animation film was directed by Fergal Reily and Clay Kaytis. It was produced by John Cohen and Catherine Winder and executive produced by Mikael Hed and David Maisel.
Voices of the characters are from Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn, Tony Hale, Keegan-Micheal Key, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage.
