After the reggae play the blues… after the buzz comes the deal… after the backlash comes the movie.
Each one, tell one. That oyinbo film in which American superstar, Will Smith, put up a Nigerian accent that has given many observers constipation or concussion as a reviewer claimed, is finally coming to Nigerian cinemas.
Concussion, the film which chronicles the journey of a Nigerian doctor, Bennet Omalu and how his research brings him at loggerheads with the National Football League in the United States is set to debut in Nigeria from Friday, January 1, 2016.
Concussion premiered in the United States of America on December 25, 2015 and it also features Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Luke Wilson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Albert Brooks, David Morse and more. It was produced by Peter Landesman.
Will Smith plays Bennet Omalu and you will recall that his Nigerian accent has drawn criticisms from various quarters especially from Nigerians.
