South African actress and TV presenter, Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo has finally completed the traditional rites to become a Sangoma (a traditional healer).
A few weeks ago, news went round that she had heeded the call to be a healer and Sunday World has now reported she has gone through all the processes of becoming one.
She posted a picture of happy herself in a traditional outfit on her Instagram page and captioned it:
‘They Called. I Answered. The Proudest, most Incredible day of my life. A Beautiful Gift that I will never take for granted. #ThokozaGogo #KgosigadiDabulamanzi #Blessed#OwnYourThrone.”
Another South African actress, Letoya Makhene, who is also a traditional healer lauded Boity’s decision on her Instagram page saying, “You beautiful thing! #Thokoza ngwana badimo! Gola Nkgono!”
Boity however explained to SW that she wishes to keep her activities private as the Sangoma matter is a very secret and deep one.
“Yes I did go thwasa but I’m not going to practise as a sangoma. This is a very sensitive matter that I don’t want to talk about in the media. It’s a personal matter and way too deep to be reduced into a celebrity gossip in the newspaper. It’s a secret. It’s so much deeper.”
