Early this morning, Nollywood actress and producer, Chioma Nwosu, cried out on her Facebook page about a production company, Magic Lights Film Academy, which she alleged was trying to defraud unsuspecting people who want to make it big in the industry.
According to her, the outfit invited artistes to Lekki, Lagos on Friday, May 22 while fuel scarcity raged to attend an audition they organized. Today, Tuesday, May 26, she claimed that artistes received a text message from the production outfit requesting that any of the artistes who hopes to feature in their production pay the sum of N10,000 (Ten thousand Naira).
The alleged SMS reads:
Nwosu then concluded her post thus:
Please be informed that Actors’ Guild of Nigeria does not encourage extortion of any artiste whether in the guise of payment for production forms, photo shoots or whatever high sounding name has been given to cover theft. Do not let Magic Lights Academy do African Magic with your money. A word is enough for the wise. Do not be deceived by charlatans. AGN!!!THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!
TNS will bring you updates on the story as it unfolds.
