The epic Disney and Marvel Studios collaboration, Captain America: Civil War is standing tall in the hall of fame as the first movie to cross the $1 billion mark in global box office earnings and the 25th movie to do so in history.
The movie achieved the feat on Friday. It closed with $314.3 million in North America and $676.7 million internationally on Thursday. Disney also already has 10 movies that have crossed the mark and Marvel Studios have 3: The Avengers, Age Of Ultron and Iron Man 3.
Captain America: Civil War was said to have gulped about $500 million in production and marketing/publicity. It was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and features Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Martin Freeman, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd among others.
