Yesterday, we reported what Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling felt about the ongoing controversy about the diversity at this year’s Oscars.
Charlotte who hinted during an interview that Black movies might have been overlooked because they were not so Oscar worthy has now apologized.
According to reports, Charlotte Rampling said;
I regret my comments could have been misinterpreted this week in my interview Europe 1 Radio. I simply meant to say that in an ideal world every performance will be given equal opportunities for consideration. I am very honored to be included in this year’s wonderful group of nominated actors and actresses. Diversity is an important issue in our industry that needs to be addressed. I am highly encouraged by the changes announced today by the Academy to diversify its membership.
Charlotte had said saying the Oscars were so white in their nomination was racist to Whites as well.
She was nominated for her role in 45 Years in the category of Best Actress at this year’s Oscars.
