35 young storytellers, last week, participated in the maiden edition of the Chris Ihidero‘s Story Story Masterclass series. The event which held at the British Council between Tuesday, October 27 to Thursday, October 29, 2015, lived up to the publicity that preceded it. At 9 am on Day 1, most of the participants – drawn by a selection committee from several storytelling fields including screenwriting, photography and more – were already at the venue, eagerly anticipating the experience that lay ahead.
PR expert Ayeni Adekunle Samuel; writer, producer, and director, Tope Oshin; advertising genius, Steve Babaeko; media consultant, Emmanuel K. Uduma and writer extraordinaire, Toni Kan all took turns at sharing their wealth of experience and encouraging words with the participants. The various sessions were instructional and interactive.
After the workshop, several of the participants have given testimonies of how their outlooks towards storytelling have changed. Chris Ihidero’s Story Story Masterclass series 1 was supported by BlackHouse Media, X3M Ideas, British Council, ID Africa and True Nollywood Stories.
