Do you remember the actor who played the famous hotel manager in Genocide-themed movie, Hotel Rwanda?
Apparently it seems Don Cheadle has borrowed from his experience to create a movie about a real personality just like he played in Hotel Rwanda. Miles Ahead is a biopic that focuses on the last few days in the life of jazz and music legend Miles Davis.
It might impress you to know that Cheadle is co-wrote, co-produced, played the lead role and also directed the movie. His efforts and belief in the project has gotten the attention of Sony Pictures Classics and they have come on board by acquiring rights to the movie. Sony Pictures Classics has taken worldwide rights and they have immediately arranged it to be screened at the closing night of the upcoming New York Film Festival.
Sony said, “What Don Cheadle has done here with the spirit of Miles Davis is truly astounding. We are not only witnessing for the first time this part of Miles Davis’ story as it deserves to be told, but also the birth of a major film director who happens to portray the iconic singer in a jaw-dropping performance.“
