Emeka Ike, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has called for the probe of the utilization of the N3 billion Nollywood Intervention Fund given to the guild by the previous administration.
During a press chat on Saturday, October 8, in Yola, Emeka Ike alleged that the funds were siphoned by a “cabal” whose members used the money to buy houses in Abuja and Lagos. He added that most of the actors who were said to have been trained abroad from the fund were untraceable.
Ike called for the exposure of the cabal whose job he said is to “bring faces for Mr President” like they did in the past administration. He then enjoined the government not to relate with individuals but directly with associations within the film industry such as AGN, ANTP and Kannywood.
