The Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was released in the early hours of today.
Emeka Mba was arrested last Monday, January 11 after the commission received a petition from within the NBC about an alleged misappropriation of N15 billion by the hierarchy.
Mba has repeatedly claimed his innocence, saying the funds in question is in the NBC’s bank account.
According to a report, the news was relayed by Igwe Gabosky via WhatsApp. The message read in part, “With great pleasure I inform you that Mr Emeka Mba has been released by EFCC. I thank all that were willing to stake their names and money: messers Fidelis Duker, Tajudeen Adepetu, Charles Novia, Barr Norbert Ajaegbu, Igwe Gabosky, Sola Fajobi, Ossy Affason and others too numerous to mention- Madu C. Chikwendu.“
The NBC boss on Sunday informed Charles Novia who paid him a visit that he was planning to resign from his post.
