The next edition of Genesis Deluxe Cinemas’ Nolly Thursdays will hold on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at The Palms Lekki and the special guest is Adesua Etomi for the movie , The Arbitration.
Adesua Etomi made her big screen acting debut in April 14, 2014 when Knocking On Heaven’s Door was released in Nigerian cinemas. Her riveting performance as the abused Debbie announced Adesua Etomi as one to watch. With stellar performances first as Layo in Brave and as Sharon in Gidi Up Season 2, Adesua Etomi proved to critics that she had the requisite acting chops.
On the big screen, Adesua Etomi would deliver another emotionally gripping performance, this time as Muna in the feature film; Falling, which was released theatrically in September 2015. This earned her the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Best Actress In A Drama Award.
The Arbitration tells the story of Gbenga (O.C Ukeje) a business tycoon who builds his Iwaju Ltd business from scratch to a big enterprise, ably assisted by his employee and right hand Woman, Dara (Adesua Etomi). A workplace romance ensues between the two in the process.
However, the office affair soon goes awry and Dara is left with no choice than to leave, in the process losing millions of Dollars in shareholding stake. She sues for sexual harassment and benefits accruing to her but hit a brick wall in the Nigerian legal system. She is left with only one option to get justice – escalate matters to the Court of Arbitration.
The movie explores the limits of love and the extent of hate in the legal drama that follows.
