Producer and director, Emmanuel Uduma, the CEO of SMATMedia Productions has revealed the plans for their next project, a documentary about The Women of Biafra.
The documentary aims to show the lives of women during the Biafran War – A national perspective of the war without neglecting or compromising the impact on women in the South East and the neighboring areas.
The stories will revolve around the lives of women and girls during the war. The documentary aims to radically transform the way Nigeria talks about its past, tackle the impact of the war in the same way and tell the Biafran story from the perspective of women.
The documentary will also take a critical look at some aspects of Nigerian history in order to gain a better understanding of the social, psychological, economic and political impact of children born during and after the civil war.
“This project is important to because there are men and women today struggling with their a crisis of identity because like most things in Nigeria, we have simply moved on. But have we? The issues that led to the war are still very much with us as a people,” Uduma said.
The company is soliciting for financial support from Nigerians to enable them tell the story efficiently.
To be part of the project, donations can be made here to crowd fund it and make it a huge success.
