Terrible things can stem from people’s harsh criticism if the person concerned isn’t quite emotionally and psychologically strong enough to get through the trouble.
Ghanaian TV girl and former Big Brother Africa housemate Selly Galley faced such trauma that took last minute psychological and emotional support from her die hard fans to save the day for her.
Selly in a recent interview with Ghana Web admitted that she contemplated suicide following the controversy surrounding her in the Big Brother Africa show when Tanzanian housemate Nando accused her of infecting him with a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
She confessed that the harsh criticisms she received stretched her beyond her power that she even contemplated suicide. “I could have committed suicide and I did not even want to come back to Ghana. You see the back lashing and insults from my own country was just too much. This news went viral, it was all over Africa and the funny thing was that, those in other countries were rather encouraging me,” she revealed.
Selly Galley is now married to Ghanaian hip life artist Cartel Big J and she is the host of Cine Afrik that will premiere on Joy TV.
