Move over Superman. The world has a new superhero and we prefer to call him by his real name, Jamie Foxx.
Oscar-winning actor and singer is trending worldwide after his heroic efforts helped rescue Brett Kyle whose pick-up skid off the road, rolled into a ditch and went up in flames near Foxx’s home – all under 10 seconds.
Foxx told reporters that he heard the crash and called 911 before rushing on to the scene. “I don’t look at it as heroic. I just look at it like, you know, you just had to do something. And it all just worked out,” the Django Unchained star said, trying to deflect attention from himself.
The Oscar-winning actor said he heard the crash from his house and called 911 before running to the scene.
According to the BBC, an off-duty paramedic who was driving by also stopped to help. They used his emergency room scissors to break the window and cut the man’s seatbelt and pull him out.
“I told him as we were talking, as I’m getting him out, I said ‘you’ve got to help me get you out because I don’t want to have to leave you'”, Foxx said. And I said ‘You’ve got angels around you.”’
The driver’s father Brad Kyle tearfully thanked Foxx for his heroics, saying several commuters passed by the scene without helping.
Brett escaped with broken bones and a punctured lung.
