In a list published by Forbes magazine Johnny Depp is Hollywood‘s most overpaid actor after a string of box office flops.
The actor is one of the world’s highest earners as estimates show that he bags $30 million annually. But, according to Forbes’ calculations, Depp has returned a measly $1.20 for every dollar he earns.
Box office failures of Transcendence, The Lone Ranger and Mortdecai has propelled him into top spot, up from 2014’s second place. Disney is believed to have lost more than $150 million on The Lone Ranger.
All the actors on the overpaid list are MALES with Denzel Washington coming in second place after returning $6.50 for each $1 he was paid.
Third in the list is Will Ferrell, who topped the list for two years consecutively in 2009 and 2010. Estimates reveal he made $6.80 for every $1 he was paid.
Liam Neeson ($7.80 for every $1), Will Smith ($8.60 for every $1), Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Tom Cruise complete the top 10.
Despite the success, earlier in the year, of Magic Mike XXL, the box office failure of Jupiter Ascending ensures Channing Tatum finds himself in seventh place.
