After our report yesterday about the rumour that a large chunk of the Nigerian contingent that attended the recently concluded Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, stronger indications have emerged this morning that, indeed, many stars are still awaiting their return to Nigeria.
AMAA-winner and talented filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan posted about an hour ago, how he was just about to leave Port Elizabeth for Johannesburg where, it is believed that a connecting flight to Nigeria will be boarded. In one of the photos of himself posted at the waiting lounge, Yoruba Nollywood star, Odunlade Adekola can be spotted in the background, waiting too, but not looking half as pleased as Afolayan.
How’s that for a confirmation of yesterday’s rumour?
Also, talented cinematographer, Stanley Ohikhuare also, via Facebook, REVEALED that he was still in South Africa, against his will. While replying to comments on his just-updated profile picture, the Kpians director said, “I still dey SA oh… I still dey find flight to return.“
We all thought this year’s AMAA would be drama-free since they decided to take it to South Africa. Guess we were all wrong.
More on this as it unfolds.
