As leaked documents continue to surface regarding Sony Pictures Entertainment internal correspondence, more details about who can or cannot be superhero Spider-Man have emerged.
According to information leaked by WikiLeaks, Spider-Man cannot be black, or gay or a smoker or someone who has been involved in underage sex. The character stipulations that Sony must adhere to in its licensing agreement for the Stan Lee character states that Spider-Man “does not have sex before the age of 16… does not have sex with anyone below the age of 16… and is not a homosexual.” He also has to be a Caucasian who does not smoke tobacco or sell or give people illegal drugs.
Furthermore, Spidey doesn’t abuse alcohol, doesn’t torture, doesn’t kill in defense of himself or others, and doesn’t use language beyond parental guidance (PG) 13.
