Kenyan superstar actress, Lupita Nyong’o is scheduled to make her New York stage debut in Liberian war play, “Eclipsed” which opens on October 14, 2015. South African-born Liesl Tommy will direct this feminist reading of the Liberian civil war written by Danai Gurira. The production’s preview will begin on September 29, at the Public Theatre, New York.

Exciting news: I am getting back to the STAGE! This Fall, catch me at The Public Theater for my New York debut in Danai Gurira’s play, ECLIPSED, directed by Liesl Tommy. SEPT 29TH to NOV 8TH.
In a press statement, artistic director, Oskar Eustis said, “A feminist reading of the Liberian Civil War, a war that was ended by women, Eclipsed is both heart-breaking and profoundly life-affirming. We are delighted to welcome the extraordinary Lupita Nyong’o to The Public in this vitally important play.”
