The latest installment of Tom Cruise‘s Mission Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation has topped the box office in its first weekend of release in cinemas across the US.
Rogue Nation hit the cinemas on July 31 and earned $56 million which is the second highest figure in the Mission Impossible franchise’s opening history. It seems the ground work Tom Cruise did before its release is finally paying off as it can be recalled that Tom was at Jimmy Fallon‘s show the other night lip syncing in promotion of the movie.
‘Mission Impossible is based on an American spy agent Ethan Hunt played by Cruise. It’s in its own right an American answer for the British espionage film: James Bond. Cruise is supported by Rebecca Ferguson and, according to reports, it took a whopping $150 million to make the movie.
Paramount Pictures will be hoping that their cash cow continue to rake in more money as the previous ones.
