If you could bring stuff back from yesterday, what would it be?
Okay, I take that back. I don’t trust some of you not to say shoulder pads.
But, imagine you could bring good ol’ music back? Like stuff from Styl Plus or Plantashun Boyz?
Oh yeah, I’m hitting the music spot, abi?
I miss them too.
Here are Nigerian Boy Bands I think need to make a comeback and do one last song together!
Members: Eedris Abdulkareem, Eddy Brown and Tony Tetuila
Who could forget their hit songs Shako mo? Sade and Jealousy?
Responsible for producing some of the biggest songs in the decade they reigned, these guys would make many dreams come true if they returned for one last hit track together!
Check out Shako mo below
2. Plantashun Boiz
Members: Tuface, Black Face and Faze.
You’re too young to be on the Internet if you didn’t know Tuface was once a member of a boy group.
Knock Me Off, You and I and & Don’t You Know are probably some of the songs 90s babies were made to.
For obvious reasons!
Wonder if Plantashun Boiz can return and give my generation one last music to make babies to.
Cos Yo Gotti and Lil Kesh isn’t cutting it.
Check out Don’t You Know
3. Zule Zoo
Members: Ibrahim Al Hassan and Mike Tertsea Aboh.
Olamide may or may not have gotten his love for lascivious lyrics from these guys.
When their hit track Kerewa was dropped back in 05, these guys got people going crazy and NBC placing a ban on their music.
Fastforward to 2016 and stuff like this has become the new ‘ordinary. Maybe we can get a remix or something?
Members: Kehinde ‘Kore’ Akinbode, David Thomas Adebiyi, Joseph Okougbo, Sunny Steve and Samson Nnogo.
Though a gospel group, this Nigerian boy band made music that people from different religions knew and sang to.
It’s no wonder we want them back years after they split.
I mean, Olori Oko is still a jam years later.
5. Styl Plus
Members: Shifi Omoefe, Tunde and Zeal
In 2004, if your name was Olufunmi, then you were more popular than other Yoruba girls with different names.
And it was all because of the R&B group, Styl Plus.
With their monstrous hits; Olufunmi, Call My Name and Runaway, these guys seemed like they weren’t going to stop.
But they did.
If only they can make one last R&B song together.
We know it would make us happy.
Members: Olu Adegbolu and Tolu Ogunniyi
Back in the 90s, these Ibadan based Nigerian Boy Band had massive airplay, thanks to their hit tracks Catch Cold, Mosquito and Maintain in India.
They went their separate ways years ago, with Tolu opting to be away from the spotlight.
But how we wish they could get together for one more track?
