Late veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi was laid to rest on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.
However, a number of people have expressed displeasure over the deplorable state of the cemetery and feel it is not a befitting resting place for such a legendary actress.
Femi Salawu, an entertainment journalist said on Facebook that if the actress was truly buried at Atan, he was really sad about it.
His post got many reactions, one of which was from the AMAA Awards Head of Jury, Shaibu Husseini who said, “How do you mean? Does it matter where the dead is buried? What should matter is the salvation of her soul sir. Let’s not sensationalise matters like this abeg.”
Veteran actor, Patrick Doyle also decried the sad state of the cemetery in a Facebook post by recalling a personal experience. He condemned the lacklustre attitude of the local government to a cemetery that people pay a significant amount of money to bury their dead in. He implored them to consider improving the condition of the cemetery.
