This year’s edition of Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA) will be held on September 10 its organisers have announced.
According to the announcement made by Ehizoya Golden Entertainment, actress and producer, Queen Blessing Itua will host the event. NEGA is the climax of Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) which will hold at Filmforum Höchst VHS Cinema, Emmerich-Joselstr, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from September 10 to September 12.
The festival is designed to enable Nollywood filmmakers to showcase their movies to Europeans and Nollywood fans in diaspora while NEGA honours Nollywood stakeholders, stars, comedians, musicians (both in Africa and in the Diaspora) and has been expanded to recognise the outstanding politicians and businessmen whose actions have impacted on the industry.
Three films scheduled for screening at NFFG are Stigma by Dangogo, Henry Ozuluonye‘s The Last Slave and Ikechukwu Onyeka‘s Chetanna.
Some of the personalities who have confirmed their attendance at this year’s event are former Nigerian VP, Atiku Abubakar, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole of Edo State, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the immediate past governor of Sokoto State,Mike Mbama Okiro and Mr. Steve Olu.
