On Wednesday, news broke that the new official control price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol had been increased to 145 Naira. This is due to the removal of subsidy and the deregulation of the downstream oil sector by the Federal Government.
There have been mixed reactions to this action and it has become the most talked about issue on social media since the announcement yesterday.
Nollywood personalities such as Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Georgina Onuoha, Carolyna Hutchings, Mildred Okwo, Uduak Isong and Chris Ihidero have taken to their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts to voice their opinions about the current economic and political situation in the country.
