Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola is set to make his first appearance in a soon-t0-be-premiered English movie titled The Grudge.
Much has been said about the versatile actor’s inability to land roles in the English-speaking part of Nollywood due to him not having a fluent command of the language.
And in an interview with Nigerianfilms a few years ago, Odunlade was quoted as saying, ‘Contrary to what you think, I have appeared in two English language movies that have not been released. Soon, I will proceed on a location for yet another English language film.
‘Really, I’m not crazy about the English roles because I don’t believe in trying too hard to speak the language that cannot bring out the best in me as a core and proud Yoruba man.’
He is however set to make his debut in the Funmi Holder-produced movie which also stars popular actors, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ireti Doyle and Jaiye Kuti.
The Yemi Morafa-directed movie, about a grudge existing among two lovelorn spouses from separate marriages and a lonely widow, will premiere in Lagos on October 23, 2016.
