Tragedy has struck in the Yoruba-speaking arm of Nollywood as popular actor, Mufutau Sanni Adio, known popularly as Ajigijaga has died.
According to reports, the actor died early this morning at his Lagos residence. His death is said to have been caused by injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident recently.
President of The Golden Movie Ambassadors (TGMA), Saidi Balogun confirmed Ajigijaga’s death to E24-7 Magazine.
“Ajigijaga’s death is a big loss to the movie industry, especially to members of The Golden Movie Ambassadors. Just last week, he called me to explain why he couldn’t attend our last monthly meeting. I can recall that he mentioned that his absence was due to injuries he sustained in a motorbike accident about two weeks ago. I was shocked this morning to get a call from one of his children that he has passed on. We shall miss his useful contributions to discussions on how to move the movie industry forward and instil discipline and professionalism in our members. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
Mufutau Sanni Adio was born in Ogun state in 1955. He began acting in 1981 and at the time of his death had featured in dozens of movies.
