O’shea Jackson Jr will not be boycotting the Oscars, sorry.
The Straight Outta Compton star who gave a good performance in the highly acclaimed 2015 movie, has revealed to E! that he would definitely be attending the award.
When asked what he felt about Jada Pinkett Smith’s decision to boycott the Oscars, O’shea Jackson said to the E! correspondent;
You know, I went to USC for film school so I got a different type of love for the Oscars. You know, the Voters, they’re entitled to their own opinions like you and I. That does not mean Straight Outta Compton is not being celebrated. We’re still up for an award for original screenplay and I will be there to represent Straight Outta Compton.
As for how he feels about the lack of diversity in nominations for Black Actors in the acting category, O’shea said;
Just back to the drawing board, they will be there for years to come and let’s make sure we are too.
O’shea Jackson Jr played his famous Dad, Ice Cube in the N.W.A biopic that made millions in the box office last year.
