Hollywood veteran, Mel Gibson might be directing the forthcoming sequel of Warner Bros star-studded movie, Suicide Squad 2.
Gibson revealed this while attending a screening of Hacksaw Ridge.
He confirmed that the talks with Warner Bros regarding Suicide Squad 2 were indeed happening, but as of this writing, they are nowhere near any sort of deal.
“It’s kind of a first date,” he said.
Gibson, 61, is currently riding high after his commercial and critical hit, Hacksaw Ridge, was nominated for six Oscars.
Warner Bros are said to be in talks with Gibson to take over from David Ayer, who directed the first film, which was met with mixed reactions but took $746m worldwide.
The first installment starred Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto as a ragtag bunch of baddies forced into the government’s service that sends them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity.
