Today is the final day at the 2016 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and a major part of the closing events, the TIFF awards have just been concluded.
Damien Chazelle’s La La Land which stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone was named the top audience prize winner and Garth Davis’s Lion and Mira Nair’s Queen Of Katwe were first and second runners up for the award.
Overwhelmed by the win, Damien Chazelle said, “To make this movie was a dream come true, and to see it connect with Toronto audiences in this way is deeply gratifying. I wanted this film to speak in a way that even the most far-fetched dreams can guide us, and everything about this moment feels surreal.”
