Linda Ejiofor is an AMVCA winner.
The beautiful actress won the gong for her efforts in Mildred Okwo’s The Meeting in which she teamed up with Femi Jacobs to deliver a memorable performance.
Last year, Linda appeared in Niyi Akinmolayan’s picture, Out of Luck as well as Heaven’s Hell, A Soldier’s Story and soon-to-be-premiered Suru L’ere.
In this exchange with TNS, the light-skinned actress reveals what she would have been if acting didn’t quite work out, how she is satisfied with where she is today and more.
As an award winning actress, can you share with us some of the special processes you engage in when preparing for roles?
I don’t think my process is special. Universally, every actor prepares for roles the same way, with one or two exceptions. I get the script and read it several times. Then I do my character work. It comes down to who she is, what she wants, what she believes, what is her motivation, what is her challenge or conflict and understanding why she makes her choices throughout the film.
Would you say you are currently where you had hoped to be today 5 years ago? Why?
Yes, when I set out on this path, I simply wanted to act. Today I am doing just that and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had, to do what I am passionate about.
What is your big dream role as a fast rising actress?
My next role is my big dream role. I just want to play characters who are diverse and different. People who would not do the things I would do. People who have experiences that I have never had. People who inspire the world.
We’re curious. If not acting, what profession would you have chosen? Why?
If I wasn’t acting….. I would have been working in an advertising agency. Always wanted to work in one.
What should we look out for from you in 2016?
More of what you got in 2015. Also a bit more work on stage. As the films and projects I am in get released, I will be sure to keep you updated.
