Following a TNS exclusive about former Africa Magic Head of Productions, Yibo Koko being fired by M-NET, a spokesman for the entertainment outfit has said he wasn’t fired.
In a chat with TNS, Efosa Aiyevbomwan said Koko resigned out of his own volition for creative reasons. According to him, Koko left because the position he previously held did not afford him the liberty to have as much hands-on approach as he wanted.
“He resigned out of his own volition because, as you know, he is a very creative person and he wanted more control and to focus more on the creative direction of our newest sitcom,” Aiyevbomwan said. “Mr. Yibo Koko is still involved with Africa Magic. He is now more of a creative consultant and when our new sitcom Do-Good is launched, you will see that he acted in it.“
The spokesman also revealed that currently, there is no Head of Productions at the outfit. When he was asked if Erica Klopper would indeed carry on in her capacity as Head of Local Productions, Aiyevbomwam said it is not happening.
TNS will keep you posted as events develop and unfold in the production powerhouse.
