Nigerian Celebs who have made the worst style choices in recent history.
By Tomilola Coco Adeyemo
Let’s face it, getting ready for the Red Carpet isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do. It’s the reason even the current fashion/trendsetters like Kim Kardashian, Toke Makinwa, Bonang Matheba, to name just a few, need an entire team (literally) to get glammed.
However, there are still some fashion blunders that will never go away.
Like Abacha’s tyrannical rule, distasteful/misinterpreted gender equality comments from Foluke Daramola and Olori of Ife, these blunders will unfortunately be remembered.
Yeah, they were that bad.
Take a look.
Ms Nyra saw us wanting to die (literally) on top the matter of this unflattering choice of outfit when she stepped out in it at the Music Meets Runway event in 2014.
Probably one of the worst choices the Singer has ever made in Fashion, this outfit sits comfortably at the top of our biggest fashion disasters of all time.
If We Start To Talk about the things award winning Singer Tiwa Savage made us feel when she stepped out in this hideous outfit, then we will never finish talking.
Ridiculous, laughable and unrelatable are some of the nicest words we can say about this choice.
Don’t ask for the rest, cos our mama said if we got nothing nice to say, we should hush.
But it is safe to say whenever we think of this horrible fashion choice, we will never think of a Standing Ovation.
Seyi Shay’s outfit to perform for the then President brought her badluck for a few days on social media when the picture went viral.
Seemingly hell bent on showing us her Uterus, Seyi Murda’d us in cold blood with this
one piece of curtain that she wore to go and see her father’s mate.
We probably will never understand why this ever became a thought in Seyi’s head but we definitely will remember it as one of the worst fashion choices made by Nigerian Celebs in recent history.
When she showed up at the first ever AMVCA in 2013 to grab her award for the Best Actress for her role in the Perfect Picture, Ms Appiah was definitely not picture perfect in her choice of dressing.
Looking like someone who rolled out of bed and wrapped herself in her drapes, Jackie Appiah’s poor fashion choice almost overshadowed her win that night
Oh yeah, she’s a Nigerian celeb too. ?
Whitenicious CEO and Bleaching Activist,
Hypo Dencia seems hell bent on putting Nigeria on the map for the wrong reasons.
Still, we claim her.
But we refuse to claim this poor choice of PJs she wore to the Grammys. We refuse to. Not even when there’s a gun to our heads.
Somehow, AMVCA Winner, Stephanie Linus thought this was a fantastic choice for an award ceremony in 2013.
Probably the one Dry outfit she’s ever won to an event like this one, we had no love for this choice when she stepped out in it.
Singer Kcee’s fashion choices pale in comparison to the way we feel when he calls himself a fashion Icon.
But hey, if you say it so much you probably start to believe it after a while…
We just might never recover.
