Vodacom teams up with DSTV and ShowMax to launch video on demand.
According to Next TV Africa, the new video on demand platform will offer mobile streaming to its users.
It says of the new venture;
Vodacom, the African mobile telecommunications service, has revealed about the future launch of its video-on-demand (VOD) service in collaboration with DStv and ShowMax. The new video-on-demand platform, Vodacom On Demand will offer mobile streaming to its users.
In one app, subscribers will be able to access on demand content and TV services. The launch is expected to be done next year. The service will allow users to pay a single amount for the content and data used for download which will in turn be added to their Vodacom bill. Access to linear TV channels will also be allowed to users.
According to Shameel Josub, the CEO, it will offer quality content at an affordable price.
It is uncertain whether this will be available in this region.
