As the Africa International Film Festival drew to a close last night with a gala/awards ceremony at Eko Atlantic, something curious occurred.
Yibo Koko, one of the two hosts of the night seem to throw a shade in the direction of superstar Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji after the events of Friday night.
You will recall that Genevieve premiered her new movie, Road to Yesterday at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema, Lekki. There was a public outcry by industry practitioners about how there was an evident segregation among the audience of the night.
While speaking to the crowd that gathered at the AFRIFF closing last night, Yibo Koko mentioned the incident. However, rather than being forward in his reference, he said that he “chose” to watch the film in the cinema hall where the other guests were gathered, rather than where the VVIPs were. He even went on to reveal that he had to sit on the floor.
Producer Blessing Egbe also lamented how badly she was treated despite holding an invitation to the event.
