How Africa’s Biggest Entertainment Conference Was Born

Ayeni Adekunle, convener of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference speaking at the 2016 edition.

Publisher of TheNetng and Chairman of NECLive, Ayeni Adekunle, reminisces how seven years ago he first had the idea to convene the Nigerian Entertainment Conference.

‘I was on a flight to London around 2011 when the idea for Nigerian Entertainment Conference came, during a BBM chat with a close friend I’ll not be mentioning today.

‘We launched two years later, on April 26, 2013, with support from few friends and many believers. NECLive will be five years on April 26, 2017.

‘As we plan another outing, this time discussing whether it is indeed time for Africa to dominate global entertainment, using music, movies and comedy as case studies, I’m counting on your support as usual.

‘We have a great future ahead of us. It is in our collective interest to not mess it up.’

NECLive5 holds on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
