From Jollof Wars To Egusi: See What Nigerians Are Calling Ghana’s Egusi Soup

Trust folks to go in hard on ‘another Ghanaian masterpiece’

Ghanaian Egusi soup.

On Saturday, Twitter user, @Knewkeed shared a photo of Ghanaian egusi soup on the platform and it looks … well, according to him, like popular ‘Banga soup’ also known as ‘Ofe akwu’.

And with the Jollof war still ongoing between Nigerians and Ghanaians, it’s only a matter of time before they start claiming their egusi is better than Nigeria’s. Lol.

So it’s better we let them know, we own this egusi – and it can’t be taken away from us.

Meanwhile, check out some of the reactions the above tweet got, with most people (even none Nigerians) trashing the so-called soup.

Disappointing is one word for this mess.

And the responses too. Lol

@Walelo_ @KneWKeeD looks like what edo people call “eboh” ,that is sacrifice for the gods

@qsaleemacode very true mehn, even the clay plate they usually use to serve the food adds to the eboh aesthetic 😂😂😂😂

But back to our egusi discussion

@KneWKeeD It looks like what u pour out in the toilet after running 2km to use the toilet. Spilled everywhere.

Even the aforementioned Ofe akwu looks better

FYI, this is what properly made Nigerian egusi soup looks like.
