Nollywood actress, writer, producer and director, Omoni Oboli is set to return to cinemas this year with a sequel to Wives on Strike. This is titled Wives on Strike: The Revolution.
Wives on Strike: The Revolution will be released in Nigerian cinema on December 29 making it the second movie she would be releasing in a year after the release of Okafor’s Law earlier this year.
Wives on Strike followed the story of a group of market women who decided to take matters into their own hands against their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father.
Wives on Strike: The Revolution movie follows these market women fighting against domestic violence after one of them was beaten to death by her husband. This leads to yet another strike by the women against their husbands forcing their hands to stand up for what is right.
With cast such as Omoni Oboli, Ufuoma McDermott, Uche Jombo, Toyin Abraham, Sola Sobowale, Chioma Akpotha, Julius Agwu, Odunlade Adekola, Kenneth Okonkwo and more, Wives on Strike: The Revolution promises some fun.
Oboli made her directorial debut with Being Mrs Elliott. The First Lady was her second film. Omoni’s works have featured in several international film festivals.
