Nollywood producer & CEO Royal Arts Academy, Emem Isong Misodi was recently honoured by Governor Udom Emmanuel during the 30th year anniversary celebration of her state Akwa Ibom.
Isong was honoured alongside 30 other eminent personalities who were said to have contributed immensely to development in the state. The event took place in Uyo and had the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in attendance.
The Nollywood practitioner was the only woman among the awardees and she was honoured for her iconic achievement in the field of entertainment.
Other award recipients include Rtd Brigadier General (Senator) Tunde Ogbeha, Obong Victor Attah and Senator Godswill Akpabio. the Prelate Emeritus of Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr SundayMbang CON, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Nsikak Eduok retired, the former Inspector General of Police, Sir Etim Inyang to name a few.
Isong is also in Akwa Ibom to film her latest project – an epic series set in Ibibio land – The Heiress.
As a way of saying ‘thank you to my people’ I have decided to film my next huge project in the Uyo to continue in our contributions towards the development and growth of the movie industry in Akwa Ibom and indeed Nollywood.
The Heiress is a joint production between Royal Arts Academy and Rok Studios. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen will direct. The script was written by Vivian Chiji and stars Queen Nwokoye, Matilda Obaseki, Theresa Edem, Ini Ikpe, Moses Armstrong, Emem Ufot, Emem Morgan and more.
