TNSEarlier today, a Federal High Court in Ikoyi under Justice Ibrahim Buba began sitting following the motion filed by Raconteur Productions (headed by Chioma Onyenwe) prohibiting Oboli, her Dioni Visions and FilmOne from releasing and distributing Okafor’s Law due to the alleged infringement on writer, Jude Idada‘s intellectual property.
Omoni Oboli through her counsel Augustine Alegeh (SAN) and a representative of Dioni Visions, Oluwatomi Adeoye, filed a counter affidavit which sought the judge to expedite hearing on the case. The counter-affidavit also alleges that there has been no infringement on Jude Idada‘s intellectual property as he did not come up with any screenplay for the film while the whole idea for Okafor’s Law was hers all along.
Tomorrow, Thursday, the court will rule whether or not the release of the film into Nigerian cinemas will go ahead as planned on Friday, March 31, 2017.
