Segun OdejimiNollywood actor and social media star, Kunle Idowu popular known as Frank Donga due to his skits has told TNS that he is working on a Frank Donga feature film.
Up until now, Kunle Idowu’s skits portraying the pink shirt-wearing Frank Donga character have been limited to very short visual stories tailored to fit into the Instagram and Twitter platforms.
However, he has said there is ongoing work to make a film out of the character.
It’s currently in the works. You constantly have to assess your audience and when the time is right, you take the right steps. It’s not an impossibility for you to very soon see a Frank Donga feature film.
However, it might not be just an ordinary collection of skits. We want to give something a little bit different and experiment a little bit more and push the bar a little bit higher.
Talking about experiments, he gave the example of the success of The Wedding Party.
The Wedding Party experimented and it worked. That’s not to say every time you experiment it is going to work, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take so it’s not impossible though I can’t give you a date or a cap. But there are a lot of conversations around that already.
Idowu has made a successful transition into appearing in feature films with his recent successful feature in record-breaking The Wedding Party and playing the lead role in Oluseyi Asurf’s Hakkunde.
