“Banky Was Crying When I Walked Down The Aisle” – In Case You Missed “The Wellingtons” Last Night, Here’s What Went Down

BY WALIU FAGBEMI

The most talked about Nigerian wedding in 2017, Banky W and Adesua Etomi’s #BAAD2017 yesterday night aired as The Wellingtons on television and here’s a highlight of what you missed if you didn’t watch it.

The show opened with the couple, Banky & gushing and narrating how they meet as well as detailing their pre wedding plans.
We later see Adesua heading to two different designers, Mai Atafo and Toju Foyeh, for fittings.

While at the designers, the bride to be, Adesua introduces us to her bridal train,  which consists of her friend of over sixteen years and also MTV Shuga actress, Jemima Osunde whom Adesua revealed was born in 1996.
The two-part series, which was nicely edited and in high definition, consisted of a traditional wedding/registry in Lagos and white wedding in  South Africa. The traditional had in attendance, lots of their friends, families, celebrities and well wishers while the registry and white wedding was quite intimate.

Adesua revealed that she wasn’t planning on marrying anyone in the industry but Banky came and shattered her plans.

Banky, on the hand, also revealed that it took him time and prayers to find Adesua and he was glad he didn’t settle for less.

The couple revealed they had been dating for over two years prior to their wedding. Speaking on how they kept their affair “low key” and away from the public while hanging out, they said they often make sure that both of them don’t get to the same place at the same time.

Part 2: White wedding, Cape Town, South Africa
Officiating Pastor: Pastor Tony Rapu.

Designer, Mai Atafo revealed the shocking moment when he and the bride almost cried because he mistakenly burnt her veil while ironing it. But thanks to his tailoring skills, he quickly mended the part with needle and thread and no one noticed.

Adesua revealed that Banky was crying while she was walking down the isle but no one noticed because he was putting on sunglasses.

At the reception, Adesua was brought to tears when her chief bridesmaid and friend of over sixteen years gave a speech on how she encouraged Adesua to give Banky a chance.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu later called out the couple for a game where he asked them random questions like:

Who spends the most time in front of the mirror?- Banky W

Who snores while sleeping? – Both of them

Who is the first to apologize after a fight? – Banky W

Who is the best dancer? – Banky W

Adesua Etomi throws the bouquet and it was caught by actress, Dorcas Shola Fapson who almost fell in the process.

The following day,  South Africa tourism takes the couple and their friends on a tour of late Nelson Mandela’s house and a zoo (where a strange elephant can recognize someone by the smell of their shoe).
